Anchorage

We have arrived!

It is raining and 57 degrees as I sit here looking out the window of our hotel at 5:30 Alaska time. It appears that Nancie's phone does not work up here so if you want to get a message to us, I suggest e-mail or for those of you who have a copy of our itinerary, you can try the hotel. We are going to don our rain coats and go in search of dinner.

I didn't take any photos at the Anchorage airport but the stuffed polar bears in a nature display were something to behold. The flight into Alaska was also something to behold, we flew in and out of beautiful clouds . The clouds were arranged in stratified layers and occasionally we could see the mountains, or glimpse the dozens of lakes and bogs below. Coming to Alaska has been a dream for me and arriving in the midst of those dreamy clouds certainly seemed fitting. Maybe I am just very tired, but I found it quite moving. Lucky us to have this opportunity.

love, C&N
